About

I love the process of creation.  I love building things, manipulating things, and dreaming things.  The essence of photography is capturing and manipulating light.  Part of the draw of photography for me is learning how to deal with the problems that come up during this process of capturing light.  I love the process and like to stretch myself every time I go out for a session.  So, enough of this philosophy of photography stuff, here is a bit about myself:

I am a 27 year old photographer based out of East Texas with six years of professional photography experience.  My career started in 2004 as an assistant wedding photographer in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth area.  Working over a hundred weddings in a two year span, I quickly began to learn what it means to be a photographer.  I currently shoot family portraits, events, and wedding photography, as well as freelance sports photography for East Texas Baptist University.

I’ve been married for seven years to my beautiful wife, Sarah. We have 2 kids, Colin and Carley. I spend the majority of my time with the students of Crossroads Baptist Church, where I’ve served as the Student Pastor for three years. You can read about some of those crazy times on my ministry blog, Students Will Eat You.

I want to work with you to get you *that* shot you want.  Whether it be a cutting edge portrait session or coverage of a sporting event, I am there to make it happen for you.  Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have at jeff@stapletonphotography.net
